-- Seattle and Portland were a lot of fun. Thanks to all the promoters for making the events happen and the crowd for doing their thing. I'll post some pics soon..... but actually, I didn't get too many. ~~*# The Werk Discs catalog is going up on Bleep.com . My 12" isn't up there yet..... but my tracks from the Grim FM comp are. Head over there to download high quality mp3's. My 'Local Headlines' 12" should be up there soon.... so if you don't have it already, or don't have a record player.... check it out. ~~~^* Next Friday night I will be dj'ing at the Holiday Edition of The Straight Dope @ Upstairs Khyber. -- Hey....sorry for neglecting this site for so long. Things have been hectic in Starkville. I'm gearing up for next week's trip to Seattle and Portland. Should be a lot of fun. If you are in those cities.... definitely come out to one of the nights. The laptop battle is on Thursday.... I'm not competing this year, but will be judging and doing a featured live set. So it will still be a good time. **~~ I've also uploaded my live set from November's Broketronica. If you haven't gotten it yet..... definitely head over to the audio page and download it. I've got a tracklist up there as well. More news soon.... I promise. Just trying to get some releases finalized for 2007.... and I'll let you know about them.

-- I'm writing this sitting in my car outside my house. I officially hate fleas. Our house is pretty much spotless, cats don't go outside.... and we're still seeing fleas. Exterminator is doing his thing. No matter..... I'm still geared up for tonight's PHREAK OUT 2 at Upstairs Khyber (56 S. 2nd Street, Philly). Gonna play a lot of different stuff tonight, ...to kind of go along with my costume. Dropping some acid, electro, sci-fi hits..... u know. ~~# Also....I still cannot add shows to my MySpace page. They have responded to me with "we are currently resolving that issue," twice.

-- It's Monday! No clue why I'm excited. So....I've just been asked to play this crazy new weekly at Fiso Lounge (1437 South Street, Philly) tonight! It's called "Beautiful Minds"....I've been told it's a carnival-like atmosphere with Brazilian models bringing you your drinks. Weird right? I'll be on early.....close to 9pm, so get there early. %%%~~~ Also.... Portland things are getting confirmed for December 8th. Vincent Parker (Vancouver) and I will be playing at Noir that evening as well as a doing an evening drive time stint on KPSU radio. More details soon.

It's also the release party for Generic Man's "Ice Cream" mixtape. -- I'm taking part (as my alter ego paul j. geissinger) in a great concert on September 20th. It's part of Bowerbird's concert series. I'll be performing on laptop duties as a member of Ciutadella. We'll be doing a live improvisational soundtrack for this interesting film, "Det Perfekte Menneske". Check the shows page for all the details. My source material will be only the dialogue and narration from the film.

-- The fine folks of Pattern is Movement have invited me to dj at their remix record release party, which will take place at this year's Philadelphia Fringe Festival on Wednesday, September 6th. The event is FREE.... and will be held at the Fringe Festival Cabaret at American/Poplar Sts. I'll be mostly dj'ing idm/electronic stuff.... so if you want to remember the FM days, get out to this FREE event. Pattern is Movement will be performing as well as Metal Hearts from Baltimore.

-- As some of you know, I'm getting married pretty soon.... so I'm not booking too many shows for the next month. Things are pretty hectic with all of that stuff going on. But..... this Saturday night, the 19th, I'll be playing an all-nighter at LAVA in West Philly. It's $10 to get in. The party goes from 10pm till real late. It's BYOB, so make sure you get to the liquor store this week. Details are on the Shows page. I'll probably be going on sometime early.... maybe do a couple dj sets.

-- Wow.... last night's "Moon Under Crooklyn" in Brooklyn, NY was definitely my favorite show I have ever played. Even though the sound system couldn't handle the bass, the crowd was hype and I felt that my set went really well. For all the details....check out my MySpace blog. -- Crazy couple of days in Montreal. I love that city. Big thanks to Black Market & Jas Nasty for showing us around the city again. Also, thanks to Collin & Krinjah for having me at their Blue Dog night. There are pics up from the trip. Josh Cohen, Bob Yula and Ben Carter, the main crew behind "Shopping in the Afterlife" (I did the score and mixed the film) ....were on the trip with me. On Saturday we went to a screening of the film at the NFB of Canada's theatre in Montreal as part of the 'Top Cannes 2006' festival. It was great to hear/see people's reactions in the theatre. Here's the website.... you can hear some of the elevator music I created for the film up there. **~ This Thursday is the 5th Philadelphia Laptop Battle. Dev79 & I will be the hosts for this fantastic event at TriTone (1508 South Street). This is the 1st time we're letting people re-enter, so you'll see a nice mix of laptop battle veterans and newcomers. Aunt Jessica (you know....me, kate, halfcast & ben) will be releasing a bunch of tunes on Ropeadope's newly created iRopeadope label. The label will launch online in the Fall. You'll be able to download all your favorite AJ tracks as well as some new remixes I'm working on. ~~* Woah....too much news! Also, I recently did a remix for Venezuela's Cardopusher for his upcoming 12" on Terminal Dusk. You can check it out right now on my MySpace page.

-- It was a busy week last week, but a lot of fun. This friday I'll be heading to Montreal for a great show at the Blue Dog. I haven't been there since last summer after sj001 came out....and it was a great time. Really looking forward to this one. Also...I'm going to be in New York again on Saturday, August 5th. -- Things have been a bit hectic lately....with the World Cup wrapping up and all, .....I have been very lazy with this site. Sorry. So....what's the news.... Well, NYC was fun on Monday night. Thanks to everyone who came out on the July 4th eve. Tomorrow I'll be doing a live pa with Halfcast on the mic. He's back from Sydney! We'll be doing two new tracks, one of which we just finished up today...... so try to come out to Broketronica in South Philly tomorrow. Mike Skinner, the man behind the Streets, will be our special guest. I was also mentioned in the Rotator feature in the breakcore article... because of the newest Peaceoff subsidiary, Ruff. ~~` I've posted a new track, "Marsh", to my MySpace profile. -- Last night's 'get IN' was a great time....thanks to everyone who came out. If you were there, you would have seen the flyers for the newest Seclusiasis night around the tables.... 'You Know It' Thursdays. Yes.... it is true..... the Seclusiasis crew is embarking on our first weekly! It will be every Thursday night at the recently renovated Tom Hagen's Tavern (20th & Arch Sts, Philly). Come out to the 1st one....next Thursday, June 22nd. We will be rotating around as residents....Dev79 & Arkive will be holding it down for the opening night. The 1st 2 hours will feature a $10 open bar for people on the VIP list. -- Good news..... it is confirmed that my 'revision' of Drop the Lime's "Glassy Eyes" will appear on the 2nd release by Peaceoff's newest subsidiary label, Ruff. The 12" will also feature 'Skyjacker' from Mathhead and a new Black Ham track entitled, 'The Crusade'. Gonna be a sick one!

-- What's going on everyone. Been working on a few new Starkey tunes, there's a "Strike Now Dub" which was dropped at this month's 'get IN' , a new track called "Marsh" (gonna be a good one i think), and another track more on the downtempo tip, "Smash Trend." I've also begun work on the CMN commissioned audio/video piece to premiere next year. I'm reallly looking forward to just writing music most of the summer. ~~` If you haven't got a copy of 'Grim FM' yet.....you can now hear some more tunes taken from the disc on the North South Divide website....and order yourself a copy. ~~* Today I picked up a copy of the new Wire magazine (the one w/ Sonic Youth on the cover)....and saw the print version of the 'Local Headlines' review. Definitely excited about that one. ```# Really looking forward to June's 'get IN' ......got tons of new tracks to drop from friends on either side of the ocean. Plus....NYC's the Captain is going to be our guest + Seclusiasis' own, Arkive. If you can't wait to to get in on some Seclusiasis action, tonight is the 1 year anniversary of The Straight Dope upstairs at the Khyber. It promises to be a wild night.

-- So....it's been a busy week. Thursday's show at the church went really well. Thanks to everyone who was feeling my set. Pics are up. Friday's Streets release party at the Straight Dope was also a good time. Lastly, last night was an interesting night at the Ethical Society. A big turnout! The opening Zeppelin mash-up went alright....looking forward to hearing the recording. Wasn't planning to play for over an hour (so I'm not sure how the last 20 minutes or so was) .....but I think it started off pretty well and had its moments. Big thanks to Duo Con Forza for premiering my piece, 'die Hymne.' I should have the recording up on the site soon. Also, thanks again to Chamber Music Now for being so supportive of the music I'm doing.

-- Tonight is the Jamie Lidell / Jimmy Edgar show at the Church. Get there early....I'm opening. 8pm. ~~~** Also, I've just been asked to open the CMN! concert on Saturday night with a Led Zeppelin improvisational mash-up. Should be interesting.....being that I barely know their music (haha, obviously a Beatles fan.) So, that's going to be at 7pm. $10 for students.....$15 for the older folks.

Just found out I (as paul j. geissinger) was mentioned in yesterday's Inquirer in the regional arts and entertainment events section for this Saturday's CMN! concert at the Ethical Society. Definitely try to come out to this one.... Duo con Forza are going to be pretty amazing. ~~_ Also, Thursday is the Warp show at the Church. Definitely get there early for my opening set. Going to drop the 'Strike Now (dub)' for the 1st time + a new track called, 'Pins' ...... which is going to be featured in my first starkey video shot on 35mm film!! More on that soon. -- The BAP show in Brooklyn this Saturday night has been moved to a Bigger venue!!! The show is now being held at Wild Wild Brooklyn, which I've heard is a hot spot. Sparks and PBR are going to be doing an open bar from 8pm-9:30 for the early-comers as well. Live sets from 8pm-2am. Dj's from 2am-6am+ ...for only $10!!!! I should be on sometime around midnight. #@~~~ Reviews of "local headlines" are starting to pop up. Tonight, 7pm at International House (37th & Chestnut Sts), is the premiere of Josh Cohen and Bob Yula's new film, "Shopping in the Afterlife." I scored and mixed this film.....so try to make it out. My piece, "Die Hymne," is being premiered by the Duo Con Forza on Saturday, April 29th. ~^-- Lastly, I have been commissioned to write a 20 minute piece for Chamber Music Now's 2006-2007 concert season, to be premiered at their "Cinematic Cello" concert. The piece will feature projected video, electronics and live cello.

-- Well..... the Werk record has been pushed back due to problems with the sleeve manufacturer. It's always the artwork that holds things up! haha. So....the proposed new date is April 3rd, just to be realistic. It better be done by then because .....we're going to make our 1st "get IN" at our new home the record release party. That's right, 'get IN' will not miss a month, we're moving to TriTone (1508 South Street)! Our first night will be Wednesday, April 12th....so come out, get IN!

-- Great times in NYC! Thanks to everyone who came out to support Shotgun Wedding and Dub War. "Stay Home" Seclusiasis Radio met up with Jammer, Plastician and Mala for some interviews.....so stay tuned for that. Thanks also to everyone who bought a CD/record. Thanks to Syrup Girls and Drop the Lime for having us up for the 'Shotgun Wedding 4' release party and Dave Q for putting on the NYC release party for 'Slit Jockey Mixtape Volume One' at Dub War. -- Since it's Slit Jockey release day.....I figured it would be a good time to announce something. 2006 will see the first "all starkbot" release.... on Werk Discs out of London! Werk is a label making moves with the success of the Grim Dubs series in 2005 and the Stacs of Stamina "Tivoli" album. My first EP on Werk will be out early this year. Once the release date is set.....I'll let you know.

-- So....it's the beginning of a new year. That means....new NEWS page! If you're looking for all that news from the end of 2005....check out the "late 2005 news" link above. The important stuff you need to know about right now:: "Slit Jockey Mixtape Volume One" is out next Tuesday, January 10th in the U.S., Monday January 16th Worldwide. I've got some exclusives on there: "Leak Riddim featuring Kano and Ghetto", "Revolve Riddim featuring Sniper E" and my Drop the Lime Remix of "Glassy Eyes". There are some record release shows planned for this month as well. The Chicago one was last night.....the Philadelphia release party will be next Wendesday the 11th, with Dev79, myself and our special guest, Drop the Lime. Friday, January 27th will be the NYC release party at the "Dub War" party. All of the details can be found on the shows page.
