3-22-05

-- Thanks to everyone who came out for "FM" this past Saturday. Things just keep getting bigger and better. If you don't believe me, check out the pics. It was our best attended "FM" yet! Xanopticon, who traveled with 8Cylinder to the show, and I ended up doing suprise live pa's at the end of the night from 1-2am. It was great to hear him play again. Next month's "FM" is going to be a g25 party with special guests, Gears, from San Francisco, and Black Market, from Montreal. It will also be the return of Gtori, to the music side of things + Vytear will ......tear it up.

3-16-05

-- This Saturday night, March 19th....is this month's installment of "FM" upstairs at the Khyber. You should be there....because it's going to be 8-bit Mayhem.

3-13-05

-- Grime & Glitz. I'm officially a year and 1 day older kids. ...So..the last few days have been pretty grimey. Thanks so much to everyone who came out to "IN" on Thursday night. It was a great success and incredible party! If you were there....you already know that. Jammer, D Double & Ears put on an amazing set (I think it was even better than Friday's set in NY), Shadetek brought it, dev79 ran the riddims and I did my usual dj thang, including one special live pa/dj mix set. We'll do it again next month.....it's a date. *^ Friday night at Rothko in NYC was great as well. There were like 600 people in that place. dev79, Stumble and I played the tunes till almost 4am. I did my first ever live pa of only Starkey grimers around 3am. ~~The City Paper article on the "IN" night (along with all of the other show previews) never made the actual pages of the CityPaper...but you can still peep it online. My article is on page23....for those of you who haven't seen it yet. ^* Last bit of info. This Saturday night is "FM" upstairs at the Khyber. I won't be playing this month....but we'll be bringing you The Data Destruction Tour 2005, featuring BitShifter, NullSleep, Covox & 8 Cylinder. It's going to be a very interesting night of gameboy madness.

3-10-05

-- City Paper Spring Music Issue.....great article/interview/demo review by Andrew Parks on .....me. You can find it here. Or...you could go get yourself a copy of the CityPaper today. Our "IN" Grime special tonight also got the lead Music article!! You can read that here. Seclusiasis kids.

3-9-05

-- Tomorrow night!!!! LaTazza!!!! See you there. "Run the Road" record release party, Jammer, D Double E & Ears' first show in the U.S.!!!!! Dj's Shadetek (NYC), Starkey & Dev79.....plus....Adidas is down. If you come to one "IN" party this year.....this is the one kids.

-- New piece, recorded at the premiere on Tuesday evening, is up on the audio page. "Positions(Rotations)" for cello and piano was premiered by cellist, Heidi Jacob, and pianist, Charles Abramovic. ~ Also...pictures from RocKill in Ithaca are up on the pictures page. # Next Thursday's "IN" ...is turning into an even better event. Now Vice Recordings, the company bringing you the first major label grime compilation, RUN THE ROAD, is on board. We're going to have some giveaways from them. Adidas is now also a sponsor......obviously you're going to be missing out if you're not there.

2-28-05

-- The last two days have been pretty annoying. I got pulled over by the police for having a problem with the rear lights on my car, that was last night after the show in Ithaca....which was equally not very stimulating. Whatever....we press onward. We have to start hyping "IN" for next Thursday night the 10th of March. It's going to be pretty amazing. D Double E, Jammer and Ears ....in their first U.S. appearance! D Double has appeared on tracks with Dizzee Rascal and Jammer has worked with none other than Wiley....and many others. All three of these mc's are incredible. Shadetek (Warp Records, Shockout) will be on hand as well to deal you the grime. My set for this night will be very different than my usual "IN" sets. I will be doing a mix of a live pa and a dj set. Should be fun. *Also...Tuesday night, March 1st, is the Soundprints concert of the season at Temple University. Charles Abramovic and Heidi Jacob will be premiering my piece, "Positions(Rotations)" for cello and piano. The concert is made up of entirely new music from masters and doctoral students at Temple University. (maybe I'll actually be one of them some day). But ....nevertheless....I do have a piece in the concert. It's FREE....and all the info is on the shows page.

2-24-05

-- I've been having problems with my ftp, it's been acting up. ^* Ithaca "ROCKILL" is this Saturday night. If you're in the upper NY state area, you should be there. It's a great line-up and should be a lot of fun. Once again....it's snowing, and that's not very nice for the drive. It better melt fast. *Also...the Audio Page has been re-worked a little bit. There's a new track "Less Than Paper" up as well.

2-22-05

-- Hey....E23 just sent me an .avi of one of my new tracks, "Prisoner," from last night's show in Brooklyn, "The Wrecking Ball." It's good quality..... from a digital camera. I'm putting it up on the pictures page with the other pictures he sent me from last night. Definitely check it out.

2-22-05

-- This month is almost over. Things are flying by. *Last night in brooklyn was a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who came out. Thanks Slightsting and Mr. CLean for having me. I'll post pics from last night as i get them. My batteries died in my camera...and the backups didn't work. But I know a few people took photos. I also posted a few new pics from last saturday's "FM", which were taken by our TV visuals guy, E23. Later.

2-20-05

-- Pictures are up from last night's FM and last weekend's Radio Volta show. Thanks again to everyone who came out last night!! It was another fantastic night with some really great performances. Now....I hope the snow holds off for the trip to NY tomorrow night. If you're going to be in the area....I'm playing "The Wrecking Ball" bi-monthly at the Lucky Cat (245 Grand St., Brooklyn). Definitely try to check it out. I'll be playing with my friend Black Market from Montreal. Philly will be rolling deep.

2-19-05

-- Tonight is "FM" upstairs at the Khyber. First Starkey live pa in Philly in 2 months!!!! You better be there.....it's FREE!!!! Dr. Nameless Rudolph Jones III, dj for Crooked Soul, will be kicking it off at 9pm. I'll be playing from 10pm sharp till 10:45 or so. It's also dev79's first live pa in 6 months. Calmer....from NYC....will be ending the night with some IDaMbient madness. See you tonight.

2-13-05

-- well......I won the Mid-Atlantic Laptop Battle last night! It was a great night...the crowd was so massive they had to turn people away at the door. The crowd was so responsive to my sets. People were getting hype to see (hear) what I was going to play next. It was very exciting. I had to play my boy A/D in the first round...that was rough...he laid down a vicious, bass heavy set with glitches fantastic. In the 3rd round I had to battle Mister Kupo from the Newark IDM massive. He was playing some really great tracks as well. The final round was against Baltimore's DJ Krai. Thanks again to everyone who came out for the battle...D.C., Baltimore, Richmond...and definitely my philly people rolling crew thick. I posted two extended version (real versions) of 2 of the tracks I played for the 1st time last night. They're on the audio page.__-- Check out RadioVolta tonight at 11pm TONIGHT! Dev79, myself and our newest Seclusiasis member, Generic Man, will be laying down some tracks from 11pm-1am. It's online....so just log onto the stream and AIM us with your comments (volta radio). Generic Man will be doing an exclusive live pa with some of his newest bangers.

-- "IN" was rowdy last night...79 pulled the power plug out of the wall Twice! Thanks to everyone who came out. I'll post pictures on the site soon....after this busy weekend. *** OK>>>>HERE is the big Suprise that I've been promising for all these weeks. It's confirmed...things are definitely going to happen. Our guests for next month's "IN", Thursday March 10th....are going to be MC's: Jammer, D Double E and Ears from London, UK. and dj's: Team Shadetek from NYC. We are really excited to have these guests to "IN". This is going to be our UK guests' first show in the U.S., so we have to show them how philly gets down. Along with Drop The Lime, Team Shadetek are the co-hosts of NYC's new grime monthly "Bangers 'n Mash", which is having its 2nd monthly event this evening (Rothko, Manhattan)....for those of you who are in NYC tonight. Also.....Dev79 and myself will be heading up the NY to do guest spots at "Bangers 'n Mash" the following evening, March 11th. Joining us once again will be Jammer, D Double E and Ears. Drop the Lime's going to be on tour for the release of his full-length on Tigerbeat6, so he'll be out of town for that one. 79 and I are really excited to play this new grime monthly in NYC. As usual..the info can be found on the shows page. **Tomorrow night is the mid-atlantic laptop battle in D.C. If you're planning on going...make sure you get there on time (9pm). Supposively this place is not the biggest venue in the world. Space may be tight. See you there.

2-9-05

-- I told you. I just noticed that I had 2-6-04 as the date. I hate the first 2 months of the new year....i just keep writing last year. **((( So..."IN" tomorrow night, 10pm for all y'all. Then, the Laptop Battle on Saturday. Sunday, 11pm, is RadioVolta. Then..... .....A lot of stuff going on in Starkville! You know where to find the details.-----I went to the Stinger Club in Brooklyn for Wrecking Ball on Monday. The place had a really great vibe...I'm really looking forward to playing there on the 21st. I guess that's all for now.

2-6-05

-- Alright.....well, the Eagles lost the super bowl. That sucks.....but whatever.....life goes on. ** Just so you kids know....on Thursday night at this month's "IN" ....we will announce who our guests for nex month's "IN" will be. That doesn't mean you folks get a month off. You definitely need to come get rowdy with us this week. But...we've got some suprises to announce for next month (March). February's guest will be Ryan Penn. You may recognize him from his recent Hologram appearance a few months back. He will be spinning the downtempo/ambient dubstep for y'all....towards the end of the night. We may have someone opening "IN" this month as well. It's going to be a good time....so you best be there. Get your eski/sub-low/grime face on!!!!!

2-5-05

-- grime and glitz folks. I just got confirmed to play "RocKill" up at Castaways in Ithaca with some of the lovely folks at g25 and some of the extended family. The show is on Saturday, Feb. 26th. Supposively...the last time they did a show there, it was packed and rowdy. That sounds like fun to me. Also playing the show will be Vytear/Black Unicorn, Velapene Screen, Black Market and DuranDuranDuran. You can check out all of these people....if you don't know their stuff already...from the links on the shows page. )))## Mid-Atlantic Laptop Battle is a week away. I've got pretty much a full car of people heading down to D.C., but I hope some of you heads decide to roll deep with us down to the battle. I'll give you all the details at "IN" on thursday night. The new tracks are sounding pretty vicious. Probably the best Starkey stuff to date. ^^^~ Next Sunday's "Stay at Home" on RadioVolta.org is going to be fun as well. The newest member of Seclusiasis, Generic Man, will be doing an exclusive live pa/dj set. (Remember him Philly....he was the 2nd runner up at the 3rd philly laptop battle. He did that sick mash-up with the NFL theme song.)

1-31-05

-- Stark-avenger here. So, I sent a track into a remix competition. I didn't win...but, I posted it on the Audio page so you folks could check it out. They haven't announced the track that won yet......it was for an old roots manuva song. I never did anything like that before, so I figured that I'd just do it for fun. -- "IN" is next Thursday the 10th....in case you forgot. It shall be the starkey return from a month's hiatus. Last month I was sitting in 80degree weather in a t-shirt.

1-27-05

-- Hey Friends, Romans, Countrymen. February is almost here. The month of the Starkbot. ....actually, I think February and March are both going to be great months. The special things that I've been talkin' about are going to be announced soon. So.....be prepared for the e-mail massive that will let you know what's going on. IF you don't receive the e-mail massive...best click that link in the top left corner that says....."contact starkey." .....and let me know that you want the Inbox extravaganza. After a day or so of unproductivity....starkey starkenson is back behind the computer with some new bangers. .....On another note...I'm starting to get a crew together to invade D.C. for this laptop battle on the 12th. Obviously I will be rallying the troops on the 10th at "IN". At this month's "IN" we will definitely announce the details for March's "IN" mayhem, if not before then. It's going to be wicked cool and such.

1-23-05

-- I thought I'd let you know that the new Starkey tracks are starting to come together. I'm really psyched about them. Also....my good friend, Josh Cohen, whom recently directed a short film which is in the editing room right now, just finished a treatment for a video for one of my new tracks, entitled, "The Winds." He's planning to shoot 24p Video and 16mm film for the video. We will hopefully be shooting the end of February and editing in March. I will definitely post the video when we're done. It will be included in a 6 or 7 track DVD in surround that I am working on for an April premiere.

1-21-05

-- If you haven't already....read the post below this one....because that has a lot of new info. But, I had to post an addition to tonight's comments. I just found out that I will be competing in the Mid-Atlantic Laptop Battle in Washington D.C. on Saturday, Feb. 12th. In this one...you actually go head-to-head with 1 other "contestant." The judges...I'm guessing....pick the 1 person from each "battle" to move on to the next round. I'm going to need crowd support.....so my peoples....get ready for a road trip.

1-20-05

-- I hate the beginning of the year. Because I'm still writing the date as the year before. ^ So...exciting things going on. I'm working on a bunch of new tracks that I am really into. I'll post some of them up on the page when their finished. Sorry....I have to keep some surprises. Also...like I said before, there are some really exciting things planned for "IN" and "FM" in the next couple of months. We're going to have some special guests to "IN" on March 10th, and the line-ups for "FM" are great as well. # I'm finally playing New York. The first date is on Monday, Feb. 21st at the Stinger Club in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It's at the "Wrecking Ball" bi-monthly. I'm going to be playing with my friend from Montreal and g25 productions, Black Market. There will probably be some guys from NY on the line-up as well. Hope to see you there. The 2nd date is almost 100% confirmed...but I'm going to wait to announce it. For all the show details....you know where to go.

1-17-05

-- This weather is way too cold for me. I want to go back to florida. Here's the NEWS.... While I was down in sunny florida, "IN" had its best night ever!!! Thanks everyone for coming out last Thursday night. I can't wait for my return next month. Hopefully you will all make it out again. I promise to make it extra grimey. Also.....Saturday night's "FM", which I happened to be at, was the best one ever. The bar rang higher than ever....the music was great....the crowd was responsive....we couldn't be happier. We also got some great press from both the CityPaper and the Philadelphia Weekly! ......*Things are really starting to look up for the Northeast U.S. electronic scene!!* Thanks to all our friends from NY for coming down to the show as well. For all you philly folks....let's keep it going....every 3rd Saturday of the month!!!!

1-10-05

-- Happy New Year everyone. I moved the news from 2004 to another page. Go check that out sometime....you can reminisce on last year's happenings. Now....onto our first events of 2005 (the year of the starkbot). This Thursday night, the 13th, is "IN" at LaTazza. Sorry folks....I won't be there. But....Brownske and Generic Man will be mixing it up with dev79. Last time I saw Generic Man was at the 3rd Philly Laptop Battle, where he made it to the FINAL round with DuranDuranDuran and Velapene Screen. It was one of his first performances too. This will definitely be a great night....I'm sorry I'm going to miss it. Also...this Saturday night, the 15th, is our "FM" night, upstairs at the Khyber. I WILL BE THERE.....for that one. I will not be doing a live pa, however. That will be next month. But, I will be manning the laptop/turntables between sets to fill in the gaps....that's called DJing. The live sets will come from tigerbeat6/ambush's Drop the Lime, along with Pale, MathHead and "FM"'s own Vytear. *(i heard he's going to rave....black unicorn style.)* Definitely come check these shows out. Both events also have some surprises for the next couple months....so keep on the look-out. Check the SHOWS page for all the details.
