Writing about Pulsar 2020Hz the press release says "Starkey’s first Deadbeats release arrives with crushing basslines pulsing beneath dizzying melodies. Taking listeners on a wormhole slide, as they get spun around the unrelenting breakbeats with each note hitting with the purpose only a true technician could craft. Leading with the single Vortex Positive and it’s psychedelic slide of spellbinding percussion, pulling from bits of old school rave through timeless grime basslines and blending it with a sci-fi soundscape. Through the rest of the EP, on Firef**k, High Street 2020, and Grand 4k, the mix of unrelenting hellfire amens with shimmering warm synths and distorted hi hats undercut with big clean kicks all serves to create an endless contrast of flavours and sensations.
