-- I've been in hiding. Sorry for not updating the site in a long time. It's that most wonderful time of the year. Thank you so much to everyone who came out to the show at Doc Watson's on the 18th. I think it was a success. The performances were vicious....the crowd was dancing and drinking.........a good time! I had a great time playing that night. So...onto some news. I will not be attending our monthly "IN" event at LaTazza this month. I will not be in town that day. But...79 has some really great guests to take my place this month: DJ Stumble and Generic Man. All the details can be found on the Seclusiasis site...and on the Shows page. And...the last bit of news for today. This month's "FM"...(which will definitely be taking place upstairs at the Khyber...and will be FREE).. is going to be just as special as last month's. This month we have performing....Drop the Lime, Pale, Vytear and MathHead!!! Dave and Gtori will be doing visuals and Starkbot4007 will be DJing between sets. Hope to see you there. |

-- NEWS FLASH!!!! The Show Will Go ON!!!!!!! Saturday night's "FM" show will now take place at Doc Watson's...and will feature the same amazing line-up as the FM night would have had. All of the details are on the Shows page. Please tell everyone you know about this last minute venue change. We need to get as many people out as possible. One thing has changed....we are going to have to charge a small cover of only $3 at the door to help pay our guests from Germany. We will not be getting a cut of the bar at this show. ....___remember....This Saturday....Dec. 18th at Doc Watson's. 9-2. +.. ....+ new electronic piece on the audio page also. |

-- Hello. Still no venue for "FM" next Saturday. We're trying to do something......i promise...i'll let everyone know as soon as we figure it out. But...forgetting that mess for now.... tonight from 11pm-1am is RadioVolta...Stay at Home with Seclusiasis Radio. My guests tonight will be Zilla, from Crooked Soul, doing a hiphop set....and Vytear, doing a live pa set. I'll be premiering some new tunes as well. Listen live on http://www.radiovolta.org |

--NEWS FLASH!!!!::: We just started getting flyers out for "FM" ...announced the line-up....and now we have a bit of a problem. The Khyber has booked a one-off party upstairs for the 18th. We are hoping to relocate the event to a different venue for that night. We do not want to cancel the show. If the Khyber is unable to move the show to another venue...we will attempt to move it ourselves. It will be difficult, however, being that it is 1 week from Christmas.... on a Saturday night. We will keep you posted. |

-- I'm updating my website at 3:30am. Still not sure why. Hopefully I'll get a chance tomorrow to work on this Starkey track that's been in the works for about a month now. I've been dealing with the string quartet and this new, still unfinished, piano piece. I'm hoping that I have a bunch of new material for "FM" this month. ......on a side note....I'm really sick of this myth that the American economy is doing well. I still know a bunch of people that are out of work....or working jobs they shouldn't be at....plus, I can't buy any music from England anymore. The exchange rate is ridiculous....$1.90 for 1 pound!!!! When I lived in London in 2001 it was $1.43 ( still sucked....but not nearly as bad as it is now.) This is keeping my grime intake down. |
11-29-04 |
-- Woah....too much turkey. I hope y'all had a nice thanksgiving. I had two dinners. ....I've been extremely busy lately...doing some recording/mastering for some bands and writing a string quartet. But, mark your calendars..."IN" is next Thursday night, December 9th!!!! Our guest upstairs this month will be Dr. Nameless Rudolph Jones III, the DJ from Crooked Soul. He'll be spinning the downbeat electronica mixed with hip hop, grime and IDM. The line-up for "FM" will be revealed this week as well. It's going to be another vicious night. Your's truly will be performing this month. |

-- Starkbot 8000 here. Wow...last night was ridiculous. "FM" was great...thanks to all who came out. If you weren't there.... you definitely missed out. The party continued till the sun came out at the Vytear Lemon Squares Bakery. I'll have some pictures up on the website soon. By the end of the night, END had an all-out dance party going on. |

-- Well....tomorrow night is Badly Drawn Boy at the TLA and the Laptop Battle at Silk City. The Laptop Battle is a great event....so definitely try to check it out. (Busy night.) Friday night there's a show with Mad EP at the Rotunda and A/D at the Mill Creek Tavern. THEN>> Saturday night is FM. 3 straight days of great music here in philly. ....-- I posted an mp3 of the Temple U. premiere of my piece, "Music for Piano and iPod: 'Bells'" on the audio page. |

-- Just got home from Radio Volta with my guests...Zilla and A/D. Was a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who IM'd us during the show. Speaking of A/D...he'll be competing in the Philadelphia Laptop Battle this Thursday night, the 18th. For more info: check out the Seclusiasis website. Also...I just finished a one day remix of an unreleased A/D track called "Skin to Bone". I just posted it to the audio page. Check it out....it's short and sweet. You may have heard it if you tuned into the radio show early. FM is this upcoming Saturday night. I will be DJing in-between performances. You definitely do not want to miss this one. I guess that's about it for tonight. Send me your responses to the A/D remix....I'm interested. |

-- Just got home from West Chester. Brian just premiered my piece for Piano & iPod. It was so great!!!!! I can't wait to hear it again tomorrow night at Temple. His playing is fantastic. If you're going to be in Philly tomorrow (thursday) you definitely need to come to Temple to hear this at 7:30. Then...after a great concert of new music...head over to LaTazza, where 79, myself and our special guest, Charlie Brownske, will be mixing up the grimey stuff. Should be a great night of music. --Right now I'm listening to the new A.D. track that I just received via e-mail. It's called..."Pocket Full of Bones". He'll definitely be playing this at the Laptop Battle next Thursday night. ...Speaking of the Laptop Battle....for more info...check out the Seclusiasis website. I was in the last one, so I will not be getting the battle axe out next week. I will be in attendance though.... See you tomorrow. |

-- Tomorrow night, Tuesday, is the Cybersounds concert at Temple University's Rock Hall. It's on the Shows page. We finally got the whole surround setup up and running today....and now all of a sudden we have a blown horn in the left channel. So...we've got some replacement speakers coming in tomorrow afternoon. I've also had a few problems with the DVD player. It needs to be cleaned I guess.... or burning DVDs is still crap. It's probably a combination of the two. ...Remember...there's also the concert on Wednesday at West Chester and then I'm back at Temple on Thursday for the Philly premiere of "Music for Piano & iPod: 'Bells'". After the concert on Thursday....hopefully it ends at a reasonable time..(like 9pm), I'll be heading over to "IN" at LaTazza....where I'll be doing the grimiest sets this side of the ocean. See you there(s). |

-- Hello. I know that this News page on my website is usually all about what's going on with me musically...but I think today I need to be a bit political. Those of you who know me, ....know that I usually fall asleep listening to CNN, MSNBC, or Fox News almost every night. On another note, I'm sorry I haven't updated the website in a week....i've been dealing with car problems and voting mayhem. Here's my political rant: I voted for Kerry. I'm glad that he won Pennsylvania. But, I know a lot of people who voted for Bush....and they have their reasons for voting for him. The worst thing about this election is... it proves that our country is completely divided (more than I can remember) and that's what "they" want. "They" are al-Qaeda and ...any of the other terrorist organizations that hate the policies of this country. I had a terrible feeling that regardless of who won this election....al Qaeda would attempt to attack this country in 6 months. Now...if Kerry would have won....the Republicans would have been saying, "I told you so. I told you that Kerry couldn't defend us." ....We would have been at each other again. Now that Bush has won, the Democrats are going to say...."We told you so. We told you that Kerry would have fought the real terrorists." It's a terrible state for us to be in. I'll be honest with you..... I find that I have only one thing in common with the Evangelical Christians of the South and Midwest, .......We are both citizens of this country. This is just the way that things turned out. I didn't choose what country I was going to be born in. I don't know....I think this is a test for this entire world. Can we live together??? ....or are we going to destroy ourselves like "Beneath the Planet of the Apes"????? Right now we have to look to the future....Obama '08. |

-- Hello, check out the update below for 10-22-04, it has most of the new stuff. But, there's been one last edition to what I'm now calling the Philadelphia/WestChester tour '04. On wednesday, Nov.10th, Brian Ciach will be premiering my piece, "Music for Piano and iPod: 'Bells' ", at West Chester University's Swope Hall. The concert of "new music" is at 8:15pm. This is 1 day before the premiere of this piece was supposed to take place....at Rock Hall at Temple University. I don't know what else is on this concert at West Chester....but I'll let you know as soon as I find out. |

Remember...."IN" has now been moved to the 2nd Thursday of the month. It's going to be on Nov. 11th. There's a flyer on the Shows page. Thanks also to everyone who listened to Dev79 and I on WKDU's Electronic Music Marathon this afternoon. We had a couple callers... so we know you're out there. I enjoyed 79's improptu hangover-Grime set which definitely was not "radio friendly." My next events are some new music concerts at Temple's Rock Hall. The first is an all surround electronic concert in the dark, called Cybersounds. There will be pieces by Milton Babbitt, Mario Davidovsky, Maurice Wright, Matthew Greenbaum and Charles Dodge....to name a few. The next is called Soundprints. It's the Boyer College Composers' concert of new music. There are details on the Shows page. Both events are FREE and open to the public. |
